WHAT IS OUR VISION?

Goodwill’s vision is to impact and change the lives of homeless, unemployed and disenfranchised people. We believe that this is done through the good news of the gospel which extends not only to preaching but also to meeting people in their felt needs – i.e. food, shelter, employment and a sense of belonging in family.

BACKGROUND

Goodwill Industries was thus birthed from a desire to see these disadvantaged and disenfranchised people given opportunities to link with gainful sustainable employment and to achieve economic freedom. The purpose of the organisation is to support and assist unemployed people in Durban. Our desire is to see dignity restored to these men and women through employment.

Our activities began with serving a meal to unemployed men and women in the city once a week; sharing the gospel with them and spending time encouraging and praying for the discouraged as well as building relationships through regular contact. We are reaching upwards of 120 people each week. To date thousands of meals have been served and hundreds of men and women have been helped with jobs.
